Our Surgical Centers

As ambulatory surgery centers grow in number, making use of new operational methods is essential for them to achieve efficiency and desired patient outcomes. NeoSpine started this process seven years ago, when the company deployed operational excellence strategies throughout its spine specialty centers. Now combined with Symbion, our spine centers perform over 1,200 spine cases per year within 8 facilities.

Today, the deployed model for operations and outcomes management is considered the model for utilization in most spine-focused ambulatory surgery centers across the country. NeoSpine and Symbion also deployed methods that improved financial projections, health plan reimbursement, patient flow efficiency and OR turn-over time. With these strategies and technologies, the surgery center can now serve the more than 2,000 patients who visit our facilities every year.

“Driven by the constant challenges of delivering high-quality patient care while maximizing internal efficiencies, the NeoSpine group of centers was one of the early adopters of condition-based solutions technology,” said Marcus Williamson, president of NeoSpine, a Division of Symbion. “From its start, NeoSpine recognized the strategic value of collaborative vendor alignment, the use of state-of-the-art minimally invasive equipment and a transparent, deliberate approach to operational management. This has been welcomed by our physician partners because it provides business value measured by dramatically improved patient care, clinical workflow and productivity versus other sites of surgical services.”

NeoSpine’s division and programs of excellence within multi-specialty centers continues to grow. The centers all have a model that provides a platform from which to report competitive patient outcomes and act as a health care delivery solution to worker’s compensation case managers, referring primary care physicians and health plans.
